Ganesh Utsav, Janmasthmi, Tajiya, gathering and procession not allowed

Today Minister of State for Home, Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja announced the Government of Gujarat’s decision to ban all public festivities gathering and celebrations in the upcoming festival month of Aug and Sep 20. The major festivities affected are the Janmashtami mela in Rajkot, Dwarka. Bhadrvi Punam mela, other fairs, Ganesh Utsav gatherings especially Aagman and Visarjan, Tajiya Gathering, Tajiya visarjan procession all the pad yatra are not to be allowed in the state.

This decision was taken to reduce the risk of Covid19 infection to spared further and very quickly. Festivals gathering is risky during this pandemic. However, political parties gathering and other political events should also be banned in Gujarat.

As the Ganesh Visarjan will take place at home request to all please bring Idol’s made of Mitti this year and do visarjan of Idols at home.
